Dzhambulat “Dzhambik” Khatokhov holds the record as the world’s biggest and heaviest boy since 2003. He was born on the 24th of September 1999. When he was 7 years old, he was 4 foot and 3 inches tall and weighed 16 stones, which was the weight of a baby elephant.
Despite having big bones (larger than other children of his age) and excessive hormones that accelerate the growth of his bones, his overeating attributes to his size and obesity. His health is at risk but his mother refuses to accept medical experts’ opinions that her son is dangerously unhealthy. She also refuses the advice to reduce his weight and she insists that he will become a sumo wrestler.
What is your opinion on her decisions? Is she thinking of her son’s future as a sportsman in sumo wrestling and thus letting him stay obese? Is she unaware of the harms of obesity or does she refuse to believe that being obese is harmful to the body?
